Petition #20985559

Abstract

George Perry, guardian of his daughter E. M. E. Perry, previously received permission to sell the child's interest in a slave named Joseph and to invest the proceeds in real estate in Annapolis. Perry confesses that he has been unable to do this. He now prays the court "to authorise him to sell the said boy and invest the proceeds in Real Estate whenever he can do so to the best advantage to the said child." [The related petition identifies E. M. E. Penny as the petitioner's son.]
