Petition #20985575

Abstract

Frank H. Stockett, the administrator of the estate of the late Alfred Sellman, presents his final administrative account to the court in order to close Sellman's estate. He explains that the personal property of the deceased awaits distribution to Sellman's widow and his two children from a previous marriage. Stockett explains that he has not sold the furniture, stock, or farming implements in accordance with his testator's wishes, but wishes to give the property "other than the furniture and slaves" to Sellman's widow, Mary, and to split the furniture between Mary and himself. He asks the court to appoint "two sensible and discreet persons to make an appraisement and distribution of the negro slaves ... so that they may be properly transferred and the estate finally closed."
