George Post represents that Sarah Westenberger, "an illegitimate child," was bound to him "to serve him in the capacity of a house servant." Post reports that "he has had great trouble with the said Sarah during the time she has been living with him." Even though he and his wife "have been very kind and careful towards" her, Sarah has run away repeatedly and is currently "confined as a runaway" in the county jail. The petitioner itemizes the expenses he has incurred in recovering Sarah and complains that he has lost her services for a period of time. Post asks that Sarah's term of service be extended to cover these expenses and "the loss of time occasioned by the running away of the said Sarah."
