Thomas Waring, administrator of the estate of the late Deborah Waring, charges that Deborah's sister, Rebecca Edmunds, "hath concealed and doth conceal" three slave children that belong to the estate. He explains that the debts of the estate cannot be settled "unless the aforesaid property of his intestate is delivered to him and sold" for the discharge of said debts. Waring plans to distribute the residue of the estate "among the next of kin of the said intestate all of whom are needy & destitute." He cites that he has asked Edmunds to turn the slaves over to him, but she refuses to comply. He prays the court to order Edmunds to answer his petition. In her answer, Rebecca Edmunds claims Waring gave her the slaves before she died.
