Petition #20985946

Abstract

Margaret Purdy states that her four children, for whom she is guardian, own a slave named Aaron who "has become incorrigible and cannot be governed and he is now in Jail for beating his young master." Purdy explains that "it is thought best by all the parties interested" to sell Aaron and invest the proceeds in another slave "as soon as possible." She asks permission to "sell the Boy in or out of the state."
