James Wilson attests that he brought his slave named William Gale [Gales] before the court in September 1859 for running away and his term of service was extended. Then, "notwithstanding the caution given him" by the court, Gale ran away again. Gale was captured and he is currently in jail in Baltimore. Wilson is afraid to take Gale out of jail for fear he will abscond again. Wilson asks that Gale's term of service be further extended and that he be granted permission to sell him in or out of state.
