John T. Timanus is the owner of a term slave named Cosmore Robinson. He reports that Robinson ran away on 13 May 1861 and "remained away from his place of buisness and in hiding from your petitioner until the time of his capture and arrest." He further recounts that he "caused his said runaway to be advertised" in the local newspapers and enlisted "several Police Officers of said City to search for the said runaway." Claiming that Robinson "is of a surly, morose and discontented disposition; that he is greatly dissatisfied with his state of servitude," Timanus believes Robinson will run away again. He asks the court for an order allowing the sale of Robinson.
