Catharine Adkinson owns a term slave named Margaret Jones, who has repeatedly run away. The petitioners claim that Jones "has actually been out of the company of her said mistress in consequence of said running away forty three days and in her recovery the sum of thirty four dollars has been expended." The Adkinsons ask the court to extend Jones's term of slavery "to indemnify her owner for all expenses and costs and loss occasioned by the absconding of said slave and for such other and further relief" as the court thinks right.
