Benjamin H. Hall is the administrator of the estate of the late Margaret Hall and is her sole distributee. He tells the court that he has agreed to sell an estate slave named Jane to Daniel Boston, Jane's brother. Boston has agreed to pay Jane's appraisal value of $200. Hall avers that "such a sale may be made with great propriety," as there are no creditors of the estate "to interpose objections." He asks the court to pass an order authorizing the sale.
