Petition #21084925

Abstract

Thomas D. Duepree, administrator of William E. Duepree's estate, reports that William's widow Elizabeth died in October 1849, leaving twenty-five slaves that she had inherited from her husband and in which she had a life interest. The petitioner reports that his father's will directed that said slaves be sold after his wife's death and that the proceeds be divided equally among his children. Thomas Duepree seeks authorization to sell the slaves at public auction.
