Dennis Bunch, the next friend of the minor heirs and grandchildren of Ahab Holmes, asks that William A. Holmes turn over the "real and personal" property in Ahab's estate to the said minor heirs. Bunch states that the said Ahab died in 1835 and that William was appointed administrator of said estate in 1846, after the death of Ahab's widow who served as administratrix. The estate consists of six slaves: one is lame "having but one leg"; one is "a very old woman & very little value on the place"; one is a "man between 50 & 60 years, a fair hand for his age"; two are "in the prime of life & valuable negroes"; and there is "one negro child about 1 year old."
