The executors and executrix of the will of the late Philip Hoggatt "believe that they are entitled to a commission." They report that Hoggatt's estate, "appraised at the sum of $378,694.50, has been distributed and delivered to the legatees entitled thereto under the will." In addition, they have paid "the specific legacies and debts" of said estate. They therefore pray "that a reasonable allowance ... may be made to them." An inventory of Hoggatt's estate listed 153 slaves with a value surpassing $123,500.
