Gabriel A. Ratcliffe, administrator of the estate of James S. Ratcliffe, prays that he be granted "an order and decree for the Sale of the said Slaves and for other perishable property" in said estate. He also asks that he be allowed "to ship the said Cotton and to sell it privately upon your Petitioner making full return of the proceeds of such sale to this Honorable Court."
