Ann Harris Wooley, the widow of W. D. Harris, informs the court that she and Thomas R. Woolly were married on 2 October 1856 and that at the time of the marriage she owned a plantation and fourteen slaves; subsequently, Thomas purchased three other slaves. Complaining that the said Thomas was without resources when they married, the petitioner states that Thomas has now died, leaving an estate which she purports rightfully belongs to her. Wooley therefore prays that the administrator of said estate "be decreed to deliver to Complainant, with proper assurance of title," the property belonging to said estate.
