- Court: County
- Salutation: To the Hon Boone County Court
Abstract
James King Jr. and his eight siblings, the children of James King Sr., petition for a distribution of the estate, which includes six slaves. The petitioners report that King's widow, Nancy, has elected to "take a childs share in said slaves." Since the slaves are "not susceptible of division in kind," they ask the court to order that the slaves be sold and the proceeds be divided equally among the heirs.
Result: Granted; appealed.
