Petition #21284411

Abstract

Served with a warrant "for trading with negroes," Willis Norman was attending his own trial when he was asked by an officer to testify in another trial concerning assault and battery. He did so but during his absence a judgment was rendered against him for illegally trading with slaves. Norman asked for a new trial but was refused. He now petitions for relief.
