After two years of marriage, Ruth Watson charges that her husband Andrew married her for her property. Shortly after their marriage he sold part of her land and two slaves. He then began to mistreat her, and later abandoned her. She seeks a divorce and alimony, believing that the property Andrew controls consists mainly of what "he obtained by his marriage with yr. Petitioner or the proceeds thereof."
