The heirs of the late William Falconer, who died intestate in 1805, question the administration of his estate by their uncle, Erasmus Powe, and George Bruce, a commissioner of the court. Although the estate has been legally partitioned, the heirs complain that Powe took advantage of their minor status and did not account with them for proceeds from the hire of Falconer's "large gang of negroes" and the sale of his large library "of Law and scientific books." They ask the court to compel Powe to account for these "large sums of money" and to order Powe and Bruce to "pay over the ballances in their hands."
