Hugh McNary and Sarah Scott McNary, the daughter and heir of the late Samuel Scott, join Sarah's brother Samuel in seeking a partition of four slaves. The petitioners state that the said slaves constituted Mary Scott's dower portion of her husband William's estate. Noting that said Mary has died, they assert that they are entitled to their late father's reversionary interest in the same. Since some of Samuel's children are minors, they ask the court's intercession. They also request that the property be sold with the proceeds divided among them, if an equitable division of the slaves cannot be made.
