Petition #21385251

Abstract

The heirs of Nancy McKittrick Dalrymple Teague request a partition and sale of four slaves. They represent that the said Nancy died survived by her husband, Elijah Teague, and children from prior marriages. They further assert that she "was possessed at and before the time of the [last] marriage" of four slaves; upon her death, said slaves were to pass her heirs. The petitioners report that they jointly hold said slaves, who "remain to be partitioned and divided." Purporting "that it would be greatly to the advantage of the parties in interest that said slaves should be sold," the petitioners state that they "are desirous thereto the same should be done." They further reveal that three of said heirs are minors and require guardians to represent their interests.
