The heirs of the late Jared Young ask that a writ of partition be issued and that commissioners be appointed to divide a "negro woman Lea and her said children amongst the parties respectively entitled thereto according to their respective interests therein." The petitioners report that Nancy Young, the widow of Jared Young, received "from the estate of the said testator, the sum of one thousand Dollars absolutely, and a negro girl named Lea which said negro she was to have and use for and during the term of her natural life to wait upon her and contribute to her support and maintenance." They further recount that Nancy Young has died and that "the said negro woman Lea together with her children are now subject to partition among the children of the said Jared Young and the representatives of such as are deceased." The heirs therefore "deem it advisable and for the interests of all parties concerned that the same should be speedily made."
