Elisha K. Schumpert, the administrator of the estate of John Schumpert, asks the court to confirm the partition of slaves. John F. Schumpert and Elisha K. Schumpert were the “joint and equal owners" of land tracts and six slaves. In 1854 the parties "agreed to partition the aforesaid land & negroes." Shortly after this arrangement, John died intestate; he is survived by his widow Rachel and a recently born child, John F. Schumpert. The petitioner requests that the aforementioned division of slaves be confirmed and that the said partition be executed.
