Trustee G. W. Landrum requests permission to apply trust funds to the purchase of a slave named Warren. Carolina and her husband John purchased Warren on 7 September 1857 for $1141 “at the sale of the property of Mrs. Armon Green,” Carolina’s mother. Landrum affirms that Carolina's mother raised Warren and that Carolina and her husband are “very much attached to the said slave, and he to them.” The petitioners ask the court to allow Landrum to continue to hold Warren in trust, according to the terms of the Mays' marriage settlement.
