The widow of Webb Rowland petitions for her dower in slaves. She complains that Rowland's eldest son, John Rowland, "refuses to comply with this reasonable request of your oratrix pretending that as he is an infant under the age of twenty one years he cannot comply therewith which refusal tends to the impoverishment of your oratrix." Phoeby Rowland asks that a guardian be appointed for John Rowland and that she be granted her share of the slave property.
