Some years before, Robert Pee "Grand Father to your Oratrix gave a negro girl named Sue to your Oratrix with her future increase and delivered her into the Hands of your Oratrixs Father Benjamin Poins." Sue remained in the possession of Susanah, "an Infant of Tender years," for two years until Poins traded Sue for one of Pee's slaves. When Susanah's grandfather "became endebted," Sue was seized and William Neal purchased her at auction. Neal then proceeded to sell Sue to William Osborne, in whose possession Sue and her three children currently reside. Susanah Courtney and her husband pray the court to direct "that the sd. Sue & her children be deliver'd to your Orator & Oratrix with her reasonable Hire for the time they have been dispossess'd of her."
Result: Dismissed.
