The children of the late Francis Bracey [Bracy] Sr. seek a division of the dower slaves of Bracey's widow, "who has lately departed this life." They report that the dower slaves are in the possession of their brother, and he has "refused either to come to a fair and equitable devision of the same, or to pay to your Complts such monies as their legal portions are reasonably Worth." The petitioners "pray that yr Worships will not only decree an equal devision of the sd. slaves among themselves and the sd. F. Bracey but also appoint fit and proper person for carrying the same into effect."
