Anderson Johnson signed an agreement with farm owner George Holman to plant and harvest a crop "in partnership" during the upcoming year. Each man would furnish "three working hands, two horses, and an equal quantity of provisions, corn and meat--the whole to be under the management & direction of your orator." Each man would also share equally in the crop's bounty. Johnson now complains that "much of the produce & crops of said farm made under the superintendence aforesaid of your orator, were received & sold by the said defendant." Johnson also made "large advancements of money & property" that he would like to settle with Holman. He asks the court to require an account between him and Holman "referred to the Commissioner of this court, who shall be required to state, settle & adjust the same."
