John Boykin, son of the late David Boykin, asks the court to appoint commissioners to allot dower to Boykin's widow, Elizabeth, and to divide the remaining two thirds of his father's slaves among his four surviving children. Boykin explains that his father's will directed that the division take place as soon as he, the eldest child, reached the age of twenty-one.
