Petition #21685429

Abstract

Sarah Arrington seeks to preserve "her right to the use of the profits ... and the rights of the remainder men, who are infants," of a trust estate established by her father-in-law, John Arrington. She reports that the said John, "by his last will and testament," conveyed a tract of land and three slaves to William Arrington to hold "in trust for the benefit of my son Jessee R Arrington and Sarah Arrington his wife." She now informs the court that numerous creditors have recovered judgments against her husband and have levied their claims against the slaves. Therefore, in order "that the said trust estate may not be severed and scattered," the petitioner prays that the creditors "be enjoined and inhibited from selling said slaves, by virtue of their said executions until the further order of the court."
