Abstract
Armistead Currie, a free man of color, represents "that he desires to choose a master or owner pursuant to the provisions of an act for the voluntary enslavement of the free negroes of the Commonwealth, passed February 18th 1856." Citing that he is over twenty-one years old and a resident of the county, Currie prays "that the court will cause to be taken the necessary steps pursuant to the provisions of the act aforesaid to enable him to choose the said Addison Hall as his master or owner."
