Following "unhappy differences," William B. Hodgson and Louisa Hodgson, signed a separation agreement seeking, "as far as in them lay the power to dissolve the marital relation between them." They now report that they have reconciled and pray "that a decree may be pronounced by the court declaring the nullity of said deed of separation in all respects whatever releasing all the parties from all obligations resulting therefrom and restoring them to their precedent condition and rights." The attached agreement reveals that William conveyed three slaves to Louisa in 1853.
