"The Petition of John Walker Peter Walker and Joseph Walker sons and Heirs of Charlotte Constantia Walker deceased Humbly Sheweth that the said Charlotte Constantia Walker died possessed of a certain Negro woman named Nannett a Slave for life which Negro woman on the death of said Charlotte descended to your petitioners children & coheirs of the said Charlotte; And your petitioners further state that a certain Stephen Minor of the Mississippi Territory under pretense that said negro woman belongs to the Estate of the late Peter Walker (of which he is administrator) unjustly detains and keeps said negro in his possession contrary to Law, altho' your petitioners have frequently made a demand of said Negro to Minor but he has altogether refused and still refuses to deliver her to your petitioners to their damage fifteen hundred dollars. Your Petitioners therefore pray that the said Stephen Minor may be compelled by a decree of this honorable court to deliver to your petitioners the said Negro woman together with her increase Now in his possession consisting of two children one of six years & the other of one, damages for detention, and costs of suit & as in duty bound your petitioners will ever pray &c."
