George A. Waggaman seeks to nullify the sale of a slave. Waggaman purchased a slave named Abraham for $232 from Frederick H. Summer, curator of the estate of the late Joseph Beard. Abraham has since run away and Waggaman has discovered that the slave was long of that habit. Waggaman claims that had he known Abraham "to have the said habit he would not have bought him." He prays that the sale be nullified and asks to be relieved of his financial obligation to Summer and the Beard estate.
