Deed in Trust, Deed of Gift. Mary Martin puts in Trust with Benjamin (abbreviated, it looks like Byr or Byn) F. Petty, “four negro Slaves Ann Lucy John Jim and their increase”. Mary Martin also puts “town lots 26 and 27, formerly owned by Doctor(?) R.C. Martin”. The enslaved and property are put in trust with Petty, “nevertheless, for the separate use of the said Sarah Gray…”, Mary Martin’s daughter. No further information about Ann, Lucy, John and Jim’s ages or relationships. Document was signed June 20, 1851, presented in Court May 1852 and registered June 25, 1852.
