Bill of Sale. Samuel C. Wellborn sells to Charles Parkes “three negro slaves as follows one man Fountain aged about forty six a woman Fanny aged about forty eight and one boy George Washington aged about five or six. I warrant the above Negroes to be sound in health…”. The document was signed April 20, 1853, presented in Court May 1853 and registered June 7, 1852, along with NC.WIL.R.438.1. Note that NC.WIL.R.313.1, 314.1, 438.1 439.2 and maybe 439.1 are all related, although the “cast of characters” is different in each.
