Deeds of Gifts. NC.WIL.S.464.1, 464.2, 464.3, 465.1 and 466.1 all record Daniel Holloway making gifts of enslaved people. In NC.WIL.S.466.1, Daniel Holloway gives to Daniel H. Holloway “three negroes a negro man named Jefferson a negro woman named Sousanna a negro boy named Jefferson and their increase forever”. No further information about the enslaved’s relationships, but it’s tempting to believe they are a family unit. Document was signed October 4, 1856, presented in Court October 8, 1856, and registered October 23, 1856.
