Agreement. Sidney Maxwell died, and David Worth is his executor. In this document, Larkin Maxwell sells his interest in Sidney Maxwell’s estate to A.N. Maxwell for $500. Included in the package are “…all my interest in three slaves which are now in the possession of Rubin Southland, Elizabeth Jenkins and Eliza Jenkins, which they claim bills of sale or deeds of gift…” obtained from Sidney Maxwell when he was alive. The document was signed October 7, 1857, presented in Court June 1863, and registered June 17, 1863. The document is at Image 293 on the microfilm roll that includes Ashe County Books U and V combined.
