Manumission was recorded on 7 May 1812. A yellow woman named Henny age about 22, who belonged to the estate of the late George Lee, Esquire of the District of Columbia, was according to the will of the deceased, to be sold for a tem1 of years. But since Henny has paid part of the contract money and has secured the payment of the balance, the undersigned parties release her of all further claim of her services or that of her child, a yellow boy nearly two years old named George. Both are to be free forever. George was born since the contract. Signed in Georgetown on 5 June 1810 by Nicholas Lingren and by J.R. Magruder, Executor of George Lee, Esquire, deceased.
