[First document] John Taylor of Washington City in the District of Columbia, late of Charles Co., Maryland, sells to Griffith Coombe of Washinton City, for $200, a Negro man named Allen age about 15, for a term of 15 years beginning January 1, 1812 and ending January l, 1827. After this time, Allen is to be free. A document is recorded in the office of the Clerk of Charles Co., Maryland. Signed on 28 October 1811 by John Taylor. [Second document] Griffith Coombe of Washington City sells to John Dobbyn, for $200, Negro Allen for 15 years "from l st of January 1812 and no longer" and after 1827, Allen is to be free. Signed on 4 August 1815 by Griffith Coombe.
