"Susan Queen, a colored woman having produced sufficient evidence of her feedom and wishing to hire her two sons Thomas and Edward Queen in the City of Washington." Thomas is age 16 and Edward is age 14. It is hoped that all whom it may concern will view this certificate as sufficient garrantee for their security while they shall remain in the City."
