Bill of sale was recorded on 23 September 1818. Francis S. Key, for $50, sells to Maria Mazingo of Washington City in the District of Columbia, a Negro girl named Susan to serve Maria Mazingo from the date of this document until 20 August 1844, when she will be free. If she has any issue before her freedom, the issue is to serve Maria Mazingo or her assigns until they become 30 years of age, and then to be free, and "so also as to the issue of such issue forever if born before the freedom of such parent." Signed on 4 August 1818 by Francis S. Key.
