Abstract

Manumission was recorded on August 21, 1819. Henry Foxall of George Town in the District of Columbia releases from slavery and sets free from and after 9April 1823 and not sooner, "my Negro man named Robert being about 40 years old and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance." He declares Robert to be then free and manumitted from all manner of servitude or service to any person or persons whomsoever. Signed on 23 February 1819 by Henry F oxall.
