Certificate of freedom [also referred to in the same document as deed of freedom] was recorded on 22 April 1795. Negro (also referred to as Mulatto] girl Lizza about 12 years of age, the daughter of Phillis, had been mortgaged by the late W. Fielder Bonre during his lifetime to Richard Bennet Hall. Now Allen Bonre the son and administrator of Fielder Bonre's estate sells Lizza to Ben Stoddart for 70 pounds with the consent of Richard B. Hall. In addition, the entry states that Lizza's brother George paid Ben Stoddart 64 pounds, 17 shillings, six pence or $173 as a consideration for setting Lizza and her issue free. There was also an entry saying that on the back of the deed of freedom there is a statement from Allen Bonre stating that he had received 70 pounds on 31 March 1795 from Ben Stoddart. There is also an additional statement on the back saying that R.B. Hall acknowledges receipt of 70 pounds which had been mortgaged to him by W.F. Bonre.
