Abstract

At the request of Edward Barrows [Burroughs] the certificate of slaves was recorded on 14 April 1802. Edward Barrows formerly of Prince George [Co.], Maryland. " ... possessed of an estate of inheritance in my own right... " moved to the District [of Columbia] about 20 February 1802, and brought with him the following slaves: Tom a 30 year old man, Horatio an 18 year old man, and Rachel a 14 year old woman.
