Abstract

At the request of Aquilla Yarrow the deed was recorded on 8 December 1803. Indenture [contract] is made between Francis Deakins as Executor and Devisee of William Deakins, Jr., deceased and Negro Yarrow both of Georgetown in the District of Columbia comprising one party, and Negro Aquilla commonly called Aquilla Yarow (son of Negro Yarrow) comprising the second party. Francis Deakins as Executor and Devisee did on 8 February 1800 convey and transfer to Negro Yarrow one moiety or half part of a lot of ground laying in Beatly and Hawkins' Addition to Georgetown known on the plot of said addition by the number 217, which said lot ought to have been conveyed to Aquilla Yarrow. Doubts exist about the legality of that conveyance. To cure and remove such doubts and to carry into effect the intention of the parties it has been advised that Francis Deakins and Negro Yarrow should unite and join in conveying all of their interests in the said halflot to Negro Aquilla. [Compiler's note: The detailed land description of the lot is given in the document, but was not abstracted by the compiler.]
