Bill of sale was recorded on 4 November 1806. Thomas Carbery of the City of Washington in the District of Columbia "became an endorser this day of a certain note of James* Bullock for the sum of $133.02 and½ cents payable to Mathew Brown of Washington City." The note was given for repairs done by Mathew Brown to a Schooner called Connection belonging to George Bullock of Charles Co., Maryland, and George Bullock has agreed. The schooner with all of her tackle, apparel and furniture and a Negro boy named George age about 20, will be turned over if the note is not paid within 40 days, and then either the vessel or George or both may be sold at public sale or by private contract. Signed on 11 October 1816 by George Bullock. [Compiler's note: * The name James may be an error since it is only used once in the document while George Bullock appears four times, including the signature at the end.]
