Ann Hickey of Washington City in the District of Columbia, "for and in consideration of the many kindnesses and love and affection I bear towards William Burch, Susanna Burch, Elevine Burch and Kitty Ann Burch of the same place, and in further consideration of $1.00," sells to them jointly and severally "my Negro slave named Lotte, now about 10 years old, as their joint property." Signed on 7 February 1822 by Ann Hickey with an "X."
