Bill of Sale, with a condition. William G. Parker sells 5 enslaved people to Hester A. Parker for $1750. The enslaved are “in the possession of my [William’s] mother B. S. Parker”, and are to remain with her until her death. Then, they will move to the physical possession of Hester Parker. The enslaved are: Clary, 50; Esex, 50; Simon, 23; Fanny, 20; and “child Nelson” about 1 year old. I’m guessing Clary is female and Esex is male, but have no proof. No information about relationships among the enslaved. Signed Jan. 26, 1860, and registered on April 18, 1860.
