Abstract

Deed of Trust. Henry Harman has accumulated about $3000 worth of debts to about 40 different people and businesses, each $3-200, most of them accruing interest. To reassure his creditors, Harman places most of his real and personal property in Trust with John Delap, Sr., including “…four negroes, one woman named Martha about 32 years of age, David 7 years of age Robert 6 years of age and Spence 4 years of age…” along with livestock, crops, furniture, tools, etc. The document was signed June 11, 1852, presented to the Clerk of Court and registered June 15, 1852.
