Deed of Gift. Sarah Monroe gives to her son Randolph Monroe “…a negro Child named Wesley aged Seven Months…”. No further information about Wesley or his relationships or who exactly was going to care for him. The document has un-filled fill-in-the-blanks for signature date, but it was presented in Court during the August 1841 session and registered August 10, 1841. (Abstractor’s note: Davidson County Deed Books 6 and 7 were microfilmed by the North Carolina Dept. of Archives and History, on one roll of microfilm (December 9, 1966). The “roll” has internal identification number 1575, and has Family Search identification number 007539232. Book 6 pages 1-543 are on microfilm images 8-297, and Book 7 pages 1-564 are on microfilm images 302-600.
